It's quite common while traveling to find people in cemeteries checking checking out old gravestones. In fact, while I was here in Castledermot, Ireland, several carloads of folks were on that mission. Church records are valuable, too.
One gentleman from Britain told me that as much as Ancestory.com is a terrific resource, coming to the actual place makes it feel real. He wandered off photographing before I had a chance to ask him if he would be locating living relatives - distant cousins, perhaps - while in Ireland and making the circle complete.
